This seafaring mercantile commonwealth once controlled the seas and traded kingdoms across the continent and abroad. The Darkening hit the them hard, destroying much of it's trade infrastructure and corrupting it's people. When the Daughters of Shandra arrived in the land just months after the Darkening, the guard was in no state to defend itself from their magical onslaught. The commonwealth fell into despotism mere days after the Daughters arrived and they have been ruling ever since. The call for rebellion has been slowly swelling over the last century. Rumor has it one of the few surviving noble families is organizing the underground.

Oldtown is the eldest settlement in the commonwealth and was once the seat of the Grand Chancellor. It is now a sentinel to the scars left by The Darkening. It's economy is failing and it's people are in constant fear of the monsters that lumber out of the east.

Port Siren is the largest port in the eight realms and is the main hub for all trade with the western kingdoms. A great deal of the commonwealth's lumber, rare metal, and precious stone resources pass through the city, but lately those supply lines have been cut. The lands to the south have become treacherous. Most settlments in the area have not been heard from in years. Some have heard rumors about survivors in Anchora and Lakeshire, but few dare leave the safety of Port Siren's lofty walls.
